Organic farming

Organic farming ensures that a product is derived from a method of farming that is environmentally friendly, thus eschewing the use of synthetic chemicals. Farmers, having to find new substitutes, generally take a hands-on approach to their land. This requires them to have an overall understanding of this particular method of farming. Organic agriculture favors small operations.

Fair trade

Fair trade seeks to provide an adequate income to producers from the developing world, in order to support their activities, particularly with respect to social legislation, environmental issues and sustainable development.
